What is life coaching?
Life/Executive coaching is a process that specifically addresses a clients personal or professional life, the obstacles and transitions they may face and choosing a course of action to help meet their professional or personal goals.
Is coaching therapy/counseling? Do you take insurance?
Coaching and therapy are different. Therapy deals with past emotional issues whereas coaching focuses on the present and the future. Coaching is for people who are functional and are high achievers but have hit a sticking point. Coaching tends to be action oriented, therapy and counseling deal with the past and grasping a better understanding of it to move on to a more successful future. I accept League Insurance.
How do you help your clients?
My personal and executive life coaching services is all about helping the client achieve their goals much faster than they would on their own. Coaching begins with completing the Discovery Session documents and then we typically meet face to face for an hour and a half (or by phone for time pressed executives). We assess the clients current opportunities and challenges, define the scope of the relationship, identify goals and the best actions to put in place to achieve them. We then continue with regular weekly or bi-weekly scheduled face to face or telephone sessions for 60 minutes to hold you accountable to your goals. In between our sessions there is often homework and I am available by email for quick feedback. Research indicates individuals are more likely to stick to change if they have a coach. http://www.realbuzz.com/articles/what-is-life-coaching-and-does-it-work
